Request pro-bono help on Taproot

Requesting pro-bono support on Taproot Plus requires 501(c)(3) recognition.
You saw Taproot from the volunteer side in the personal guide. Now, once your charity has its 501(c)(3), register the organization and request the skilled, pro-bono help you need.
Clear scope attracts skilled volunteers
Pro-bono professionals choose projects that respect their time. A tightly scoped request — defined deliverable, timeline, and what you’ll provide — gets matched fast; a vague one sits unanswered.
- 1
Register your organization
Once recognized, create the charity’s account on taprootplus.org and confirm your 501(c)(3) status so you can post projects.
- 2
Scope a pro-bono project
Define one concrete project: the deliverable (e.g. a logo, a marketing plan), the timeline, the skills needed, and what your team will provide. Model it on the examples you saved as a volunteer.
- 3
Post and partner
Post the request, review interested professionals, and agree on clear checkpoints. Treat the volunteer as a partner — good experiences lead to repeat help.
Common questions
When can my charity request pro-bono help?
Once you have 501(c)(3) recognition you can register the organization on Taproot Plus and post projects. Before that, use the personal guide to learn how scoping works.
Why does scope matter so much?
Skilled volunteers donate limited time and pick projects that are well-defined. A clear deliverable, timeline, and your own commitments make your request the easy one to say yes to.
